April

Loved the cottage and all the gadgets! Very comfortable - particularly nice to have the wood burner with the temperature dropping to -1c. A week is hardly enough time to take in the wildness of the area - I am sure we will be back.

Just amazing weather. Good Golf at Hexham and an experience at Allendale G.C., worth going, just to eat and drink and take in the view. Tried segways at Slaley Hall. A very chilled 10 days in the lovely cottage.

July

Wonderful cottage, beautifully and thoughtfully equipped in an excellent location for walking. We tried and failed to read all your books -may have to return to read some more! Fantastic and restful break.

May

More of a home to 'holiday' than a holiday cottage. Loved lots of the touches -books, eye level fridge, pantry, lots of lights (many cottages keep us in romantic gloom) and of course the incomparable North Pennine countryside.

May

Two years on and another lovely week here. A good balance of staying local with walks, playing in river etc. and days out - Killhope, Cragside and Alnwick garden.and Lindisfarne. Trying to decide if we can come back next year.

We've had a fantastic time at your cottage and enjoyed every moment in Northumberland. Very comfortable stay, and felt like home as soon as we arrived. Had several BBQs in the beautiful garden and loved every minute when we were at your cottage. Did plenty of walking around Allendale valleys, visited many attractions. Thank you for all the info you provided; we put it all to good use.

A last minute Google piece of good fortune enabled us to experience a wonderful end of summer stay in your lovely cottage and introduced us to a beautiful, previously unvisited part of England. Thank you.

October

Comfortable and well equipped cottage. Spent lots of time watching the salmon leap. Loved the summerhouse. Nature trail at Allenheads was a good walk for under 10s.

December

Very comfortable and well thought out cottage - rechargeable torch perfectly placed for Boxing Day power cut! (as were candles) Usually stay in 4 * hotels so was worried about self catering - didn't need to be concerned everything worked and I was warm! Congratulations on getting it right.
