The cottage is 15 minutes drive, south of Hexham, one hour north-east from Penrith or 45 minutes from Newcastle upon Tyne

There is a daily bus from Hexham to Allenheads that passes half a mile from the cottage.

Trains link to Hexham from Carlisle and Newcastle upon Tyne.
