Allendale is in the North Pennines, officially designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty and UNESCO European and Global Geopark.

There's a wonderful mix of moor and dale. You can cycle or walk for mile upon mile and see more wildlife than human inhabitants. Wild life that includes such rarities as the red squirrel, peregrine falcon, goshawk, mountain saxifrage and orchids.
